Spokane, WA - Despite solid performances from Alex Gonzalez and Spokane's bullpen, the Vancouver Canadians were able to cling to a 2-0 victory over the Indians in front of 5,029 fans.
Gonzalez, the Texas Rangers' 2013 first-round draft pick, didn't allow a run for the first time this season. The right hander pitched through three innings allowing only two hits and striking out two batters.
Eric Brooks and Keone Kela combined to hold the Canadians to five hits in relief. Spokane pitchers struck out 11 Canadians, further pushing the team's league-leading total to 377. Kela, who was assigned to Spokane a little over a week ago, has yet to allow a run in his four appearances.
The Indians offense was led by Wenatchee, Wash., native Cam Schiller, who hit his team-leading ninth double of the season. Chris Garia, Ryan Cordell and Marcus Greene also added hits for the Indians. Cordell stole his 13th base of the season, which places him second in the Northwest League right behind Garia's 16 swipes.
