SPOKANE -- The Indians three-day minicamp may be hectic, but it's good preparation for a sea on that doesn't offer much time for rest. Beginning Friday Spokane will play 76 games in 81 days.

On Tuesday Tim Hulett's club got its first practice in leading up to the 2013 season. These days are a mix of conditioning as well as baseball drills.

Hulett says the coaches soak up everything they can about their team, but there are some things you won't learn until the players get under the lights.

Helping ease the transition are the nine players back from the 2012 roster. Veteran or not, Hulett says his guys are always looking to make a good first impression.

The Indians host Everett Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Rangers 2013 first round draft pick Alex Gonzalez arrived in Spokane Tuesday, just in time for practice. The right handed pitcher out of Oral Roberts said he got word that he will start Opening Night.
