SPOKANE -- The Spokane Indians open the regular season at Avista Stadium on Friday night.
First pitch between the Indians and Salem-Keizer Volcanoes is scheduled for 6:30pm. There are still tickets available, but the team expects a sellout.
David Perez, considered one of the Texas Rangers' top pitching prospects, will be the starter for the Indians opener.
Perez is one of a handful of players from the Dominican Republic. The Indians also have players from Venezuela, Columbia, Canada, Puerto Rico, Japan, and the United States.
