Indians eliminated from postseason with loss at Yakima

The Spokane Indians dropped the series opener at Yakima 2-0, and were mathematically eliminated from postseason play.

 

The Indians managed just five hits in the shutout loss, ending their five-game winning streak. Yakima collected only four hits, all singles in the second inning, where the Bears scored both of their runs.

Tri-City defeated Boise 3-1 Saturday night, giving the Dust Devils an eight-game lead in the East Division standings with just eight games left to play.

The Indians lost the season series to Tri-City 7-5, giving the Devils the tie-breaker.

Spokane continues its series in Yakima with game two-of-three against the Bears tomorrow night at 5:35 p.m.
