Bobby Wagner drove in four runs with a triple and home run, helping the Boise Hawks to a 5-4 victory over the Spokane Indians on Thursday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.
Wagner got the Hawks on the board in the first with a two-run triple off the right field wall, then following a Justin Bour RBI double in the fifth, belted his fifth home run of the season down the line in right.
Spokane made it interesting in the eighth, loading the bases on a pair of errors and a hit by pitch, but Steve Grife coaxed a groundout to get out of the frame with a one-run lead. The Indians would get the tying run aboard in the ninth, but Grife got Billy O'Conner to ground into a 5-4-3 double play to end the contest.
Robert Hernandez tossed five innings of four hit ball to pick up his fourth win, with Grife notching his first save.
The Indians now return home for the final three games of the 2009 season. They play the Yakima Bears with the first game of the set starting at 6:30pm on Friday.
