No. 12 Gonzaga (6-0) hosts Lewis-Clark State (9-0) Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in the McCarthey Athletic Center. The game will be televised by Root Sports.

The Stats – These teams have won – and won big – in the early portion of the season. Gonzaga’s six wins have come by an average of 26.2 points. Clemson is the only team to avoid a double-digit loss to the Zags (57-49). The Warriors – off to their best ever start in NAIA competition – are outscoring the opposition by 24.4 points. However, that number is inflated by a pair of 60+ point wins to start the season.  They both can score, too. GU is putting up 82.2 points per game, while LCSC is scoring at an 87.3 clip.
The Stars – The Warriors are led by 6-foot-6-inch forward P.J. Bolte, who has come off the bench to average 19.3 points and 6.3 rebounds (both team highs). Bolte also led the Warriors in both categories last season. One thing LCSC is lacking is size,  with none taller than 6’6”. Przemek Karnowski has feasted on overmatched competition, with team-highs of 22 points against Southern Utah and 20 against South Dakota. Thursday is another opportunity for the Polish seven-footer to flex his muscles and get quality minutes. Same could be said for Kelly Olynyk, who has a pair of double-figure scoring games in three appearances.
The Storylines - LCSC does have some Gonzaga ties. Head coach Brandon Rinta was an assistant at EWU under Ray Giacoletti, and Mark Ackerman is a 1986 graduate of GU. The programs also have a bit of history, meeting as recently as December 2010 when the Bulldogs grabbed a 103-61 win in Spokane. Their nine meetings have resulted in nine Gonzaga wins, with the last eight hosted by GU. Five of Gonzaga’s wins have come by 30 points or more. Number six could be on the way Thursday.
