Tuesday night's state soccer highlights

The high school state girl's soccer tournaments are officially underway. There was a full slate of games on Monday.

In the opening round of the 4A tournament, Lewis & Clark pounded past Pasco 3-0 at University High School. The Tigers face Kamiakin in the quarterfinals, because the Braves beat University 1-0 in double overtime on Monday night.

In the 2A state tournament, Cheney easily cruised past Prosser 5-0 to advance to the quarterfinals. The Blackhawks will play Ellensburg, because they knocked off West Valley 3-2. Pullman also played East Valley of Yakima and lost, 4-1.

There are more games on Wednesday. Lakeside plays at home at 1pm against Overlake in the 1A state tournament. The quarterfinals for all tournaments will be played out on Saturday all across the state.
