Spokane's Cowen, Koper selected to represent WHL

Jared Cowen and Levko Koper of the Spokane Chiefs have both been named to the Western Hockey League roster that will compete in 2009 Super Series against Team Russia .

The WHL will be play two games in the series, one on November 25th and the other on November 26th in Victoria, BC and Kelowna, BC, respectively. Cowen and Koper will play on November 25th and will miss the Chiefs road game at Everett that night.

The 2009 Super Series marks the seventh straight year that teams of CHL All-Stars have competed against Team Russia in preparation for the World Junior Hockey Championships.

Team WHL was selected by a special committee of WHL General Managers along with Al Murray, Hockey Canada's Head Scout for the Canadian National Junior Team, as part of the selection process for the 2010 World Junior Hockey Championships.
