Spokane, WA – The Texas Rangers have assigned 20 players from extended Spring Training to the Spokane Indians for the beginning of the Northwest League season which opens Friday, June 14th at Avista Stadium.

Schiller was college teammates with the Texas Rangers 2013 first-round pick Alex Gonzales at Oral Roberts University.
Last season, Onaka played in 23 games for the Indians, posting a .333 bating average and an on-base percentage of .433. Alvares tossed 48.1 innings, keeping his ERA at a solid 2.61 with 40 strikeouts.
Newcomers include pitchers Alex De La Cruz, Yohander Mendez, Ryne Slack, Collin Wiles, Mike Zouzalik, and Kyle Castro, outfielder Jamie Jarmon, and infielders Janluis Castro, Alberto Triunfel and Will Ireton.
Wiles, the Texas Rangers 2012 first-round pick, is a right hander out of Overland Park, Kan., and will make his Single-A baseball debut in Spokane. Jarmon, the 2011 Delaware High School Football Player of the Year, will roam the outfield at Avista Stadium after being drafted in the second round of the 2012 draft. Kyle Castro was a second-round pick in 2011.
Players from the 2013 MLB Draft, which concluded Saturday, will fill out the remaining roster spots. Names will be announced shortly.
