PULLMAN, Wash. --  Smoke and haze greeted fans as they descended on to Pullman for Homecoming 2012 to watch the Cougs take on the University of Colorada Buffaloes.

The game kicked off at 1 p.m. at Martin Stadium. School officials decided to carry on with the game despite deteriorating air conditions. Whitman County urged people Friday to cancel outdoor activities because of poor air quality. Pullman police echoed those recommendations on Twitter.

WSU barely took the win the last time these teams met in October of last year. The Cougs led the Buffaloes 31-27 in that game.
