SAN BERNARDINO, CA - The Post Falls little leaguers' dream run came to an end Saturday afternoon, as Idaho lost 8-4 to Oregon in the Northwest Regional Championship.
The squad from Gresham, OR wasted little time jumping out into the lead, with a pair of three run innings to start the game.
Sam Schulze provided the first bit of offense for Post Falls, with a solo home run to center in the second inning. Oregon extended its lead to 8-1 shortly after, though, with two more runs in the third.
Idaho threatened late, using a three-run fifth inning to draw within four runs of Oregon. But Gresham closed the door in the sixth to earn their spot in the Little League World Series.
The 16-team tournament begins August 16th in Williamsport, PA.
