30 second game guide

*Bring’em Out: NCAA Tournament round one:  No. 8 Gonzaga 26-6 (12-2 WCC) vs. No. 1 Syracuse Orange 29-4 (15-3 Big East) at HSBC Arena at 9:10 a.m. only on KREM 2.

*Watch for: Syracuse will be without Arinze Onauku Sunday.

Fear: Chris Singleton. The Seminoles’ sophomore forward can do just about anything. He scores just over ten points, collects seven boards and swats a shot-and-a-half a game. No FSU player is averaging over 12 points, but six ‘Noles are chipping in with over eight points per contest. Gonzaga is going to have its hands full of not only containing Singleton, but hold about four-to-five others below their average to win.

Respect: The Robert Sacre vs. Solomon Alabi battle. It’ll be two sophomore seven-footers going at each other in the paint. Both players are averaging the similar numbers (Sacre 10 ppg, 5 rpg; Alabi 11 ppg, 6 rpg). Neither team has a very strong back-up at that position, so whoever gets into foul trouble, or proves ineffective will be at a huge disadvantage.

*Random Stuff: This is the first-ever meeting between these two teams. Gonzaga is making its 12th straight NCAA Tournament appearance (13th overall) and holds a 15-12 overall record in the Big Dance. Syracuse is making its 25th appearance in the tourney and has a 12-11 overall record including one Final Four back in 1972. (needs to be changed for Syracuse)
