National Football League teams need to trim their rosters down to 53 players by Saturday afternoon. That means some former local college standouts received good or bad news on Friday.

We'll start with the good news. Ex-Idaho Vandals wide receiver Max Komar tweeted that he made the Arizona Cardinals roster. He caught 12 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown for Arizona during the preseason.

Former Washington State wide receiver Jason Hill was released by the San Francisco 49ers, while former Eastern Washington tight end Nathan Overbay was cut by the Denver Broncos.

There's a possibility that both players will be re-signed to a team's practice squad.
