PULLMAN -- It was a drama-free Signing Day for the Cougs, but plenty productive for Mike Leach and his program.

The third year Washington State head coach said it was his best recruiting class in Pullman, adding it's a "more polished group" than they have had the last two seasons.

Leach and his coaching staff landed three players from Washington, including highly-touted cornerback Deion Singleton out of Chiawana High School. Of their 22 signees, 13 are from California.

The biggest area of emphasis appeared to be in the secondary, where WSU signed three cornerbacks and three safeties. There are also four linebackers in the mix, and four wide receivers.

Leach added one quarterback, Peyton Bender out of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Among the most highly-touted prospects now headed to Washington State is running back Squally Canada from Milpitas High School in California.

"We've got a little of everything on there, which is kind of what we were looking for," Leach said.
