YAKIMA -- The Spokane Indians were able to jump out to a 1-0 series lead on Monday night after they took down the Yakima Bears 5-1.

For the third straight game, the Indians got on the board in the top of the first inning with Ryan Strausborger scoring off Michale Olt's ground out to make it 1-0.

Santiago Chirino broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth with another fielder's choice scoring Andrew Clark, and Spokane never looked back.

The Indians return to Spokane for Game Two on Tuesday night at Avista Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30pm.

If Spokane wins, they clinch a spot in the Northwest League Championship Series.
