SPOKANE -- After missing out on their first four opportunities for home wins, the Indians grabbed two Saturday night.

Spokane took an early lead in game 1 of their doubleheader against Boise. Marcus Greene drove in Ryan Cordell in the bottom of the 2nd. In the next at bat Gabriel Roa used an RBI single of his own to score Janluis Castro to make it 2-0.

Tim Hulett's team added another in the third, when Castro brought in Evan Van Hoosier on a ground-rule double.

After a Justin Marra homer in the 5th, Boise got to within one run on a wild pitch in the 7th. Josh McElwee struck out three of the next four batters to seal the 3-2 win.

Much like the opener, Spokane jumped out to a 3-0 2nd inning lead in the nightcap. An error allowed Alberto Triunfel to score the game's first run. That was followed by a 2-run single by Hirotoshi Onaka.

A 2-run home run by Shawan Dunston got the Hawks within a run, but a Kevin Torres sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 3rd proved to be the difference in the Indians' 4-3 win.

The teams continue their series Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
