Spokane, WA -The Spokane Indians started the second half of the Northwest League season by losing a pitcher's duel to the Vancouver Canadians 2-0 on Tuesday night in front of 3,743 fans.

Kelvin Vasquez held the Canadians line-up scoreless during his 3.2 innings of work. He allowed three hits and struck out three batters, pushing his season strikeout total to a team-leading 36. Abel De Los Santos came to the mound in the fourth inning and struck out eight batters, but allowed Vancouver's two runs in 3.1 innings. Justin Sprenger finished off the game, striking out four batters of his own in two innings.

Vancouver first baseman L.B. Dantzler, who made his professional debut on June 26 in Spokane by going 0 for 4, tagged De Los Santos for a solo home run in the seventh inning.
