SPOKANE -- The Indians didn't need a comeback on Monday night, as the Spokane bullpen used a trio of pitchers to prevent the Eugene Emeralds from scoring, finishing off a 2-1 win. It was the final game of the five-game series. Spokane won the series 4-1.

Righty Richard Alvarez (1-0) earned his first win of the season is what was his best outing. He didn't allow a base runner in five at-bats. Right hander Sam Wolff relieved Alvarez and pitched two scoreless innings; he has yet to allow a run in the 11.1 innings he has pitched this season. Lefty Cody Ege finished off the Eugene offense in the ninth, getting the save

Collin Wiles, the right handed 2012 first-round pick, allowed Eugene's only run - a home run to right fielder Henry Charles - and scattered two other hits while striking out five batters.

Second baseman Janluis Castro belted his first home run of the season to left field to put the Indians on the board in third inning. In the same inning, shortstop Alberto Triunfel singled home first baseman Kevin Torres.

The Indians will have the day off tomorrow before the team travels to play the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes in a five-game series. Every home and away game can be heard with the Voice of the Indians Mike Boyle on SportsRadio 1510 KGA.

Spokane will return home Monday, July 15th, to open a quick three-game series against the Tri-City Dust Devils.
