MOSCOW -- What a difference a week makes.
The University of Idaho destroyed North Dakota, an opponent from the Football Championship Subdivision (formerly Division I-AA), 45-0 in its season opener on September 4th. This week, the Vandals square off against one of the best Football Bowl Subdivision teams in the country.
Idaho travels to the University of Nebraska on Saturday. The Cornhuskers are ranked 6th in this week's Associated Press Top 25. They took down Western Kentucky 49-10 in their season opener last weekend.
The Vandals don't only face one of the best teams in the country, they also face a tough atmosphere at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. Saturday's game will mark the 306th consecutive sellout, a streak that started in 1962. That's an impressive feat figuring the stadium holds more than 81,000 people.
Another tough challenge for Idaho is the game time. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:30am Pacific Time, so the Vandals will have to get amped up early.
All of those factors add up to the Cornhuskers being favored by 28 points. They play the games for a reason though.
We'll have all of the highlights on Saturday night on KREM 2 News and KREM.com.
