After a standout rookie season, Tyler Johnson is no longer just a big name around Spokane. But when he takes the ice in Coeur d'Alene July 11th he will gladly take a backseat to some of the game's biggest names.
The former Chiefs star and Central Valley grad is helping bring Hockey Fest to the Frontier Ice Arena next month. Joining Johnson will be Hall of Famers Wayne Gretzky and Brett Hull, along with other current and former NHL players.
Those "legends" will take on the likes of Johnson, Mark Rypien, and other hockey players and athletes with local ties.
The event will include a public skate and kids clinic, all headlined by the exhibition.
Hockey Fest will benefit Frontier Ice Arena, a non-profit, as well as local youth hockey.
