Gonzaga women ready to dance with Iowa

SPOKANE -- The Gonzaga women’s basketball team faces the University of Iowa in the NCAA Tournament on Saturday at 1:10pm in the McCarthey Athletic Center. You can watch the game live on ESPN2.

The other first-round match-up has UCLA playing Montana 30 minutes following the Gonzaga-Iowa game.

Saturday’s winners meet at 6:30pm on Monday for the right to advance to the Spokane Regional to be held at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena on March 26-28.

Iowa brings a 22-8 record to Spokane after falling to Ohio State 71-61 in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament. The Hawkeyes were 10-6 in the Big Ten and earned the No. 4 seed into the conference tournament.

Gonzaga is making its fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and third-straight, and first as a No. 11 seed. The Bulldogs were previously No. 12 seeds  in both 2007 and 2009 and had a No. 7 seed last season.
