SPOKANE, Wash. -- Nick Gardewine earned his team-high sixth win this season while striking out eight and allowing just two hits in six innings as the Spokane Indians beat the Everett AquaSox, 8-3, in front of 6,032 fans at Avista Stadium on Saturday night. Spokane won the series, 2-1.

Gardewine’s eight strikeouts were a season high, and his six innings worked matched his longest outing of the year. He struggled in his last four starts, allowing 20 runs in his past four outings, but finally found his groove in his 10th start of the season. It helped, considering the run support was backing him all night long despite walking two.

Juremi Profar hit his second home run of the season, a two-run fly ball to left field. He also had an RBI double in the eighth inning. He has 28 RBI this season, and he is batting .272.

Diego Cedeno had his second successful night in a row, garnering two hits and an RBI. Josh Morgan, Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Pepe Cardona added in a single RBI in the win. Morgan is batting .455 in his first three games with the team. Luke Tendler singled home Morgan and Jose Trevino in the first inning.

Reed Garrett, recently removed from the starting rotation after nearing his pitch limit, pitched two innings in relief and allowed one run. Johnny Fasola allowed two runs on three hits to close out the game.
