SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga University women’s basketball team jumped two spots to No. 20 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll released Monday.
The Bulldogs received 194 points – 71 additional points from a week ago. Gonzaga is 60 points ahead of 21st place Middle Tennessee State University and 49 points behind 19th place Texas A&M.
The University of Connecticut still reigns supreme in the top spot with 900 points, while the University of Notre Dame and Stanford University round out the top three.
With two victories this past week, the Zags improved their overall record to 20-3 and their West Coast Conference mark to 10-1. The Bulldogs reached the 20-victory plateau for the eighth-straight year and the ninth time in head coach Kelly Graves' 14-year tenure. Gonzaga is also one of just seven institutions to have reached 20 wins this season.
This past week, Gonzaga defeated Santa Clara University 89-37 and the University of San Francisco 101-66.
