Eric Williams turned aside 37 shots, 16 of them in the third period, as the Spokane Chiefs won their second straight game over the Victoria Royals, 3-2 Saturday night in Victoria, B.C. The victory was Spokane's 5th straight as they remained a point ahead of Tri City for 4th place in the Western Conference standings.

Alessio Bertaggia scored on Spokane's only power play midway through the first period from Mike Aviani and Mitch Holmberg to give the Chiefs an early 1-0 lead. Jack Walker tallied his 2nd goal of the season against the Chiefs late in the first to tie the game at one after the first period. Todd Fiddler would notch his team leading 41st goal of the season from Dylan Walchuk at 4:43 of the second period to give the Chiefs a 2-1 lead. 26 seconds later, Blake Gal would shoot a puck off the end glass. The puck richocheted off the back of Victoria goalie Patrik Polivka and into the net for Gal's 13th of the season to make it 3-1 Chiefs. Stewart Coyle and Jason Fram got the assists on the eventual game winning goal.

Victoria would score a power play goal from Ben Walker midway through the second to cut the lead to 3-2. Williams took over from there, as he turned aside 29 of the final 30 shots he saw, including a point blank chance from the Royals leading goal scorer Jaime Crooks late in the third, to preserve his 29th win of the season.
