The Spokane Chiefs fell to the Everett Silvertips for the second time this season as Tyler Maxwell’s goal in overtime lifted Everett to a 4-3 win. With the loss, the Chiefs fell a point behind Everett in the U.S. Division.

Tyler Johnson’s power play goal 13:05 into the first period gave Spokane a 1-0 lead after one. Johnson’s 13th of the season and 4th in his last 3 games, was assisted by Jared Spurgeon and Kenton Miller.

Shane Harper’s goal just 21 seconds into the second period would tie the game at 1. The Chiefs would regain the lead on Steve Kuhn’s rebound goal at 8:37 of the period to make it 2-1. Kuhn’s goal was assisted by Spurgeon and Garrett Leedahl, who picked up his first WHL point. Spokane outshot Everett 14-12 in the second.

The Chiefs would extend the lead to 3-1 on Stephan Ulmer’s power play goal at 4:16 of the third period. Spurgeon picked up his third assist of the night on Ulmer’s 4th goal of the year. Chris Langkow and Harper would score less than a minute apart starting 2:13 later to even the game at three. Everett would then score 2:02 into the overtime to pick up their second straight win over Spokane.
