SPOKANE - Whitworth's time outside of the D3hoops.com top-ten lasted only one week. The Pirates rose from 12th to 8th in today's D3hoops.com top-25 poll.
Whitworth closed out the regular season with wins at Linfield and Willamette last weekend, finishing 22-3 overall and 14-2 in the Northwest Conference. The Bucs' NWC title is their fourth outright crown in a row, a feat not accomplished in the league since Whitman did it (1927-1930).
Whitworth will host Lewis & Clark on Thursday at 7:00 pm in the NWC semifinals. If the Pirates win that game, they will host the NWC tournament final on Saturday night.
