SPOKANE -- History has had a way of repeating itself this time of year in the Northwest Conference, where Whitworth has gone from top seed to the Division III Tournament season after season.

Matt Logie and the Pirates claimed a record fifth consecutive outright regular season title, and now will go for an eighth straight tournament championship and trip to the D3 dance.

Whitworth hosts Lewis & Clark Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the NWC semifinals. They lost to the Pioneers in their regular season finale.

Logie has enjoyed watching a younger group come into its own this season. The players that do have postseason experience help them feel right at home when the stakes are high.

If Whitworth tops Lewis & Clark Thursday, they will host the winner of Puget Sound and Whitman Saturday night.
