SPOKANE, Wash. - Whitworth remained third in today's D3hoops.com men's basketball top-25 poll, the second week in a row the Pirates were ranked among the top three teams.

The Pirates did pick up four first place votes in this week's poll and their point total increased from 560 last week to 568 this week.  However WPI (Mass.), the only unbeaten team left in Division III men's basketball, overtook Whitworth in the poll and moved from 4th to 2nd.  WPI grabbed eight first place votes.

St. Thomas, previously 2nd, moved back up to the top spot this week and had 13 first place votes.  Rochester (N.Y.) spent one week at #1 before losing at NYU last Friday.  The Yellow Jackets dropped to 4th in this week's rating.

Whitworth is coming off of wins over Lewis & Clark (89-70) and Pacific (98-63) last weekend.  The Pirates (20-1 overall, 12-0 NWC) need only one more win to clinch their fourth consecutive outright Northwest Conference men's basketball title.  They get their first chance tomorrow night at Whitman College (14-7, 8-4).
