The Seattle Seahawks announced Monday wide receiver Terrell Owens and the team have agreed to terms on a contract.
The Seahawks did not disclose details of the contract, but unconfirmed media reports say it is a one-year deal.
The controversial Owens, 38, worked out for the team Monday, reportedly running a sub-4.5-second 40-year dash.
Owens hasn't played in the NFL since the 2010 season with Cincinnati when he caught 72 passes for 983 yards and nine touchdowns. Owens didn't get any NFL offers to play last season after surgery on his left knee. He had 35 catches for 420 yards and 10 touchdowns while playing eight of 11 games for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League. He was released and lost an ownership stake in the team in May.
Owens has had a volatile relationship with players and coaches on multiple NFL teams. Seattle fans may recall a stunt Owens pulled when he was with the 49ers, when he scored a touchdown and proceeded to pull out a Sharpie, autograph the ball and throw it into the stands.
