Seahawks
Jones to start against Cowboys
07:39 AM PST on Wednesday, November 26, 2008
RENTON, Wash. - Julius Jones will start for the Seahawks on Thursday at Dallas.
Coach Mike Holmgren says Jones will start against his former Cowboys four days after being benched, and replaced by Maurice Morris. Morris gave Seattle its first 100-yard rushing day since Week 3 in last weekend's loss to Washington.
Holmgren says Jones' motivation over being dumped by Dallas last season before he became a free agent was the primary reason he is choosing to start him.
Jones has 637 yards rushing and two touchdowns in 11 games, nine starts, this season. He started while Morris missed three games early in the season with a sprained knee.
Morris has 278 yards rushing in eight games, two starts.
Holmgren has said since the preseason he would use both backs interchangeably throughout the season.
