Shawn Chitnis joined KREM 2 News as a reporter in May 2011.
Prior to working in Spokane, Shawn worked in television news in Yakima for more than two years.
Shawn began his career in journalism working for ABC News in New York and Los Angeles as a desk assistant while still in college. He worked the overnight shifts during the summer of 2007 and covered the Minnesota bridge collapse as well as the failed London car bomb plots. When he returned to the west coast, he helped with the network’s coverage of numerous award shows and the start of the 2008 presidential election.
A native of Washington, Shawn grew up in Lynnwood before moving to L.A. for college. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Business Administration.
When Shawn isn’t following politics and all the other headlines of the day, he enjoys listening to all genres of music and learning more about his favorite topics. They include history, television, and anything related to his USC Trojans!
