SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard is responding to a spill of at least 600 gallons (2,271 liters) of diesel fuel in the harbor of Puerto Rico's capital.
Pollution investigators say the spill apparently occurred early Sunday during a ship fuel transfer at a pier in San Juan harbor.
The spill in the U.S. territory's capital has reportedly been contained but there is an oily sheen visible along a channel of the harbor, which accommodates cargo vessels and cruise ships.
The accident is under investigation.
