Wildlife officers ask for information on moose poached near Lewiston

LEWISTON, Idaho—The Idaho Department of Fish and Game are investigating the deaths of two moose killed near Lewiston.

Conservation officers said the cow and the calf were likely shot from the roadway.

Reports said only some of the meat from the calf was taken.

A concerned individual reported the moose to the Citizens Against Poaching hotline and a wildlife officer was able to save some of the meat that had been left in the field to waste.

Officials asked that if anyone had information on the unlawfully killed moose to call the Citizens Against Poaching hotline at 1-800-632-5999 or the Idaho Fish and Game Clearwater regional office at 208-799-5010.
