SPOKANE VALLEY-- Crews responded to a brush fire in Spokane Valley Tuesday just before 5 p.m.
The fire is burnt more than five acres. As of 6 p.m. the fire was knocked down.
The fire started on the north side of Trent Ave. and jumped over to the south side. The south side portion of the fire has been put out, but there are still hot spots on the north side of Trent.
Firefighters are forming a wet line around the fire to contain the hot spots.
The Department of Natural Resource was called to assist in battling the fire. Four engines from DNR and an overhead unit was called to the scene.
Two structures are threatened; one of them is a garage. The fire as of 5:40 p.m. is not spreading, but is not yet contained.
Crews did not close Trent initially. Traffic Control was requested and Trent is partially blocked as of 5:40 p.m.
Crews hope to have the fire fully contained in the next 1-2 hours.
