Homeowner helps fight brush fire near Cheney

CHENEY, Wash.-- Fire crews quickly contained a brush fire near Cheney.
It broke out late Thursday morning in the 11000 block of South Scribner.
The flames scorched about 1 acre, and one home was threatened. The landowner said he was able to grab a hose and help control some of the flames.
The fire was under control by noon.
