ELLENSBURG, Wash. (AP) -- A 500-acre wildfire is threatening some homes near Ellensburg.
An official with the Department of Natural Resources office in Ellensburg, Koshare Eagle, says the fire broke out around midnight northeast of Ellensburg.
She says residents of a couple of homes have been told to be ready to evacuate and residents of about 15 other homes have been alerted to the danger.
Eagle says firefighters are using four bulldozers and a couple of helicopters. With more resources on the way, she says there's a good chance of success.
