SPOKANE, Wash. -- Southwest Airlines is ending flights between Seattle and Spokane, a route that is dominated by Alaska and Horizon airlines.
Four flights a day between the state's two largest cities will end on Jan. 8 as part of a series of cost-cutting moves across the country by Southwest.
According to Spokane International Airport high fuel prices and low passengers, made it difficult for Southwest to compete with Alaska Airlines.
Southwest will continue providing daily nonstop service to Boise, Portland, Denver, Las Vegas, Oakland, and Phoenix.
