SPOKANE— Firefighters had to pull a woman from her car after a jack-knifed semi truck hit her car head-on early Thursday in Spokane.

The crash happened just after 7 a.m. and blocked a portion of Salnave Road.  Investigators said the truck driver was heading northbound when the driver hit slush.  The semi truck jack-knifed striking the oncoming car.

A witness attempted to pull the woman from her car just after the crash but she was wedged inside.  He stayed with the woman until firefighters arrived and got her out of the car.

Medics rushed the woman to the hospital in satisfactory condition with a possible fractured leg.  No injuries were reported for the driver of the semi truck and no word yet if the driver will face any charges.

Authorities expected the road to remain blocked until about 9:30 a.m. while they cleared the scene.
