Google will enter the online music market today, unveiling its challenger to Apple’s iTunes.

Bloomberg News, citing people familiar with the plan, reports the service will let users store songs online and listen to tracks on multiple devices. Google is also trying to secure rights for users of its Google+ social media platform to share music with one another.

Google and Apple are already in a heated rivalry over smartphone dominance. Apple’s iPhone is the top selling phone. But, Google’s Android operating system, which is featured on multiple brands of smartphones, was outselling the iPhone in the most recent quarter.
