SPOKANE -- Chief Warrant Officer Niall Lyons will be buried in Spokane Monday morning.  The 40-year-old was killed in Afghanistan last month when the helicopter he was in crashed.  Six other soldiers also died.

Lyons graduated from Shadle High School in 1988.  He then went to study geography at Eastern Washington University.  Several of his professors still remember him as one of the best students they ever had.

The funeral service begins at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Parish in Spokane.  The Patriot Guard will then escort Lyons from the parish to Holy Cross Cemetery.
