Valley View property owners begin the process of re-building their homes.
Much of the land in the area has been completely cleared out.
Loggers have taken care of the large trees, but haven’t removed the smaller tree and brush.
Landowners are taking it into their own hands to save money and re-invent their property.
Toby Rodrigues, a landowner whose property was hit by the fire, said it’s strange to see empty land where hundreds of trees used to stand, but he’s choosing to embrace the new landscape. .
“It exposed us a lot,” said Rodrigues. “But it gives us a vision with little shoots of grass of what is to come, you can see the light through the window.”
Several other landowners are starting to rebuild their property, planting new trees and rushing to plant grass before winter arrives.
