Brush fire forces evacuations near Wenatchee

A helicopter drops water on a wildfire near Wenatchee.
WENATCHEE, Wash. – Several homes were evacuated northwest of Wenatchee Tuesday after being threatened by a 60 acre grass fire.
The fire, burning on Department of Natural Resources land, grew quickly.
Homes were evacuated briefly, but residents were allowed back in Tuesday night. However, fire crews had not contained the fire as of 8 p.m.

No structures burned and there were no reports of injuries. The cause of the fire has not been released.
