WHITMAN CO., WA -- Fire crews contained the Rock Lake Fire as of Thursday night.
The fire began Monday night on the Spokane/Whitman County border and burned 2,289 acres.
No homes were damaged; however, two firefighters suffered non-life threatening in the blaze.
Though no official cause has been stated, the fire started near Rock Lake Road during the height of Monday's thunderstorm.

Fire crews continue to fight the Rock Lake fire on the border of Spokane and Whitman counties.
High winds caused the fire to spread quickly to hundreds of acres.
Authorities say lightning caused the fire
Nine homes were threatened and voluntary evacuations were employed.
Crews from Witcom County, Whitman County and Spokane County responded to the fire.
Officials estimate the Rock Lake Wildfire cost the state about $200,000.
