Mead High School junior wins first Credit 2 Kids of the season

Credit-2-Kids: Mead High School (11-2017)

SPOKANE, Wash.—Laura Papetti headed to Mead High School Monday morning to present the first Credit 2 Kids winner of the season with a check from STCU.

Junior Sydney Lyman was nominated by her teacher and mentor, Dana Rowan.

Rowan said Sydney was involved in multiple actives in the school and community.

“Sydney is probably the most committed, organized, humble, service-driven student I have ever had, and she inspires others around her to get involved and be better students and citizens,” said Rowan in Sydney’s nomination.

Sydney’s involvement includes extensive volunteer work through family and her church, participation in the STCU $100 project-homeless outreach, the founder and president of the Mead Serves Club, the creator of the Mead Serves website and serves as a student board member at Northwest Harvest.

Rowan said that she felt privileged to know Sydney and to have had her as a student.
