SPOKANE, Wash.—Crews rushed to the intersection of N. Foothills Drive and Perry early Monday after a water main broke, spilling water all over the road.
Dispatchers said a call came in around 4 A.M. that water was gushing from the main. Crews had to slow the water first in the pipe, before shutting it down completely.
Several streets were blocked off while crews worked to clean it all up. The break blew out huge chunks out of the road. Workers planned to be working all day Monday to install a patch over the broken roadway. The road will likely be closed the rest of the week for repairs.
Homes within a two block radius were left with limited or no water. There was no estimate when water would be restored to those homes.
