SPOKANE, Wash.-- A semi truck hauling dried peas lost several boxes Friday afternoon and caused a backup on Interstate 90. The back-up was about five miles long around 4:15 p.m. according to authorities. It was cleared by 4:30 p.m.

Several boxes fell off of the semi just east of Freya in the westbound lanes.

A vehicle hit one of the boxes according to Washington State Patrol troopers. The wreck blocked the right and center lane. Some of the peas also spilled into the eastbound lanes.
