AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. -- A NASCAR driver brought his crew to Spokane County Raceway on Tuesday for short track testing. Kurt Busch tested his brakes and tires before his next event at the Martinsville Speedway.
Busch drives the Furniture Row car, #78, at NASCAR events.
His shop is based in Colorado but weather forced Busch to move his training. Busch said that his crew tried to move testing to Iowa, New Mexico, and Georgia before coming to Spokane.
“It’s comparable, the weathers nice and we’ve been doing a lot of laps,” said Busch.
He said the ½ mile Spokane County Raceway is similar to the Martinsville track. Busch drove 300 laps on Monday and expected to the do same on Tuesday.
Busch said he was impressed by the way Spokane County Raceway tracks.
“It would be a great race to watch on a Saturday night so I encourage everybody to come on out and check the schedule for Spokane and support the local racing,” said Busch.
