SPOKANE-- Springdale’s Frontier Days Rodeo went off without a hitch Saturday less than a week after vandals trashed the rodeo grounds.

Hundreds attended the rodeo in the small Stevens County town, but without the help of volunteers and extra donations from the community, it may not have happened.

With only five days to go until the award winning rodeo, vandals tore apart 50 feet of fence and damaged another 50.  They threw tables, chairs and platforms out of the crow’s nest down into the arena.

A local truck driver noticed the damage and called Arena director Dan Seagle first thing Monday morning.

Seagle estimated it would cost around $1,500 to replace and fix things up.  Rodeo board members spent the morning calling around for donations.
