SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. -- A man has died in a drive-by shooting on North Atlantic and West Wedgewood, according to his family. Detectives identified the suspect as Issiah L. Schauman, 19.

Fabian McBride, 31, was shot multiple times around 12:45 Wednesday afternoon in front of an apartment complex, according to authorities.  Officials said the shooting was not random.

Fabian's family said his girlfriend was robbed before he was shot. Authorities think that may be a motive.

Witnesses said they heard three pops and then a car sped off. A gang unit responded, but the Spokane County Sheriff's Office has not confirmed that this was a gang related shooting. Investigators also said they have had difficulty getting cooperation from witnesses.

McBride's family said that the father of five was a happy-go-lucky guy.

"Fabian is a good guy. He helps anyone out with his time," said McBride's brother. "If you ask Fab for anything, he's there for you."

They were also shocked.

"It's a shock to everyone. Everyone is just finding out," McBride's brother said. "Getting off work, seeing what's going on with my brother. We're trying to get information. It's not right right now. We're all hurt right now. We're all hurt not knowing what's going on. Who did it. It's killing us right now."

The Spokane County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes detectives and authorities in the Spokane County Forensics Unit are investigating.

Issiah Schauman was last seen in a light colored 1986 Chrysler New Yorker with the license plate number AEE5144. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 and do not attempt to make contact with Schauman.

He is considered armed and dangerous.
