NAMPA-- Fancy felines from all around the country had the opportunity to earn 'top cat' status at the 2013 annual Idaho cat show, sponsored by the Cat Fanciers Association.

The show happened at the Expo Idaho Center in Nampa.

More than 160 cats were expected to come. Some of them were purebred and others were household cats. Cats from the Idaho Humane Society and other local shelters were advertised for adoption.

Cat lover Barbara Callison brought her beloved feline.

"It takes years and years and dedication and money and time," Callison said. "They have their own distinct personality, and I don't care you can have ten cats and each one of them is going to have its own personality."

CFA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of cats.

It is the world's largest registry of pedigreed cats with affiliated clubs producing more that 325 shows a year.
